February was a hot month for real estate transactions in the GTA.
In fact, it was a record month.
The Toronto Real Estate Board reports sales were up 21% over the same month a year ago with about two-thirds outside the city of Toronto.
Average prices were also on the rise, reaching $719,843 in Toronto and $665,100 in the rest of the GTA.
Toronto and other parts of southern Ontario were among the hottest housing markets in the country in 2015, trailing just Vancouver and parts of B.C.’s Lower Mainland.
Vancouver also saw a record month in Feburary with sales up 36% from last year.
