BOOKER PRIZE WINNER DIES AT 87

Renowned art historian and Booker prize-winning British author Anita Brookner has died at the age of 87.

Brookner

London-born Brookner began writing fiction in her 50’s after a distinguished career as an art historian.  She won the Booker in 1984 for her novel Hotel du Lac; one of 25 books she penned.

Brookner was also the first woman to hold the Slade Professorship of Fine Art at Cambridge University and taught at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
