STUDY: MEMORIES LOST TO EARLY ALZHEIMER'S RECOVERED

Researchers at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) believe they may have made a major breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
Experts at the private research university in Cambridge say it might be possible to retrieve recent memories of patients living with the disease that were thought to have been ”lost”.

They reached their conclusion after extensive tests on mice that were genetically modified to develop Alzheimer’s symptoms.
Researchers say it’s possible that in the future, technology will be developed that might reverse some of the memory loss in early stage Alzheimer’s.
The study appears in the online edition of Nature.
