Canadian history takes the stage in the National Arts Centre’s upcoming English theatre season. Among the highlights is “Vigilante”, a musical about Ontario’s notorious Donnelly family which was massacred by an angry mob in Lucan, north of London, Ontario in 1880.
Other highlights of the program include “The Colony of Unrequited Dreams”, which focuses on Canada’s last father of confederation, Joey Smallwood, who served as Newfoundland’s first premier for 23 years; and “Infinity” by Ottawa-born playwright Hannah Moscovitch, who recently won the $150,000 thousand Donald Windham-Sandy Campbell Literature Prize.
