Good news for buskers and those who enjoy buskers in the City of Toronto.
Buskers will continue to be a fixture at Yonge and Dundas square after council voted down a motion to ban busking for safety reasons. Toronto Mayor John Tory defended the move saying the buskers are part of the landscape. He called Yonge and Dundas Square the busiest place in the city for a reason. He says people come out to see the buskers.
Ward 27 Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam put forth the motion. She was concerned that crowded sidewalks near the Eaton Centre sometime necessitate pedestrians walking on the road.
