Die-hard Fans of the iconic Canadian Band “The Tragically Hip” are reacting with anger and astonishment that tickets for the band’s final tour are being resold for more than four times their face value.
The Kingston-based band announced its final tour last week after disclosing that song writer and lead singer Gord Downie was suffering from incurable brain cancer.
Tickets went on sale yesterday morning on Ticketmaster for the Hip’s Toronto show August 12th and were sold out within seconds. But they immediately reappeared on Stub Hub with scalpers demanding a 400 per cent mark up.
To meet demand, The Hip have added 4 more Toronto shows including a 3rd date at the Air Canada Centre. Some of those tickets go on sale today.
