Ontario’s action plan on climate change is going to cost consumers more.
It’ll add about five dollars a month to home heating bills – and just over 4 cents a litre to the price of gasoline.
That’s the word from environment minister Glenn Murray, who’ll be joining premier Wynne and others tomorrow morning – at the Evergreen Brick Works for the release of the plan.
It calls for between 6 and 8-billion dollars in climate change initiatives over the next five years – but doesn’t call for phasing out the use of natural gas for heating.

There will also  be money for homeowners – if and when they decide to switch to newer technologies – such as geo-thermal and heat pump systems.

But the Tories aren’t convinced the Liberals won’t ban the use of natural gas for heating.

Energy critic John Yakabuski says the government hasn’t  backed off the idea – it has just changed its spin.
