One of Henry moore’s most famous sculptures could bring almost $30 million U.S. – and set an auction record for the late artist this month in London.

Christie’s says Reclining Figure: Festival could attract between $22 and $29 million U.S. at the June 30th sale.

The 2.3 metre-long bronze of a reclining woman was created for the 1951 Festival of Britain and was considered by Moore as one of his most important works, wherin he succeeded in making form and space sculpturally inseparable.

He made five bronze casts of the sculpture – and one of them sold at Christie’s in 2012 – for the equivalent of $30 million U.S. at the time.

The version being sold this month has spent half-a-century in a private American collection.
