The Toronto Pride Parade will proceed as scheduled Sunday July 3.

A statement from Pride Toronto says it ”will not contribute to a culture of fear by responding to threats.  Instead, we will continue to focus on creating a safe space for our community and city to enjoy the remainder of Pride Month.”
There have been a series of threats on the internet in the wake of last weekend’s massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando.
A pro-ISIS propaganda channel says the parade’s an excellent target.
But event organizers says they have worked with Toronto Police and the RCMP, ”to develop a solid security plan.  Our partners in law enforcement continue to monitor any new developments and we are working very closely with them to ensure the safety of attendees and participants.”
This year’s parade is being dedicated to the victims of the Orlando nightclub attack.
Following a minute of silence, their names will be read aloud.
