GO TRANSIT EXPANDING IN DURHAM REGION

The Lakeshore East line’s being extended by 20 kilometres from Oshawa to Bowmanville.

Premier Kathleen Wynne announcing the project Monday at the site of the new Bowmanville GO train station – one of four that’ll be built.
Two are going in Oshawa – one at Thornton Road, the other at Ritson Road along with one in Courtice.
The plan’s to have four trains each morning and each afternoon in and out of Bowmanville once service is scheduled to begin in 2024.
No word on the cost of the expansion which includes the construction of a new bridge over the 401.
