CDA TO LIFT VISAS FOR MEXICAN VISITORS, MEXICO TO PERMIT CDN BEEF

On the eve of the North American leaders gathering or Three Amigos summit, two of the countries announce changes.

With Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto at his side, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Canada’s dropping its visa requirement for Mexican visitors as of this December.
Meanwhile, Mexico agrees to open its markets to Canadian beef, something Trudeau says will help Canadian farmers and families.
The previous Harper government imposed visas in 2009 to stop thousands of asylum claims being made by ineligible Mexicans.
The move caught the Mexican government off guard and was a major irritant between the countries ever since.

U.S. President Obama will be in Ottawa Wednesday.
