BREXIT DOES NOT DIMINISH ART SALES

Sotheby’s says it’s clear the passion for art collection continues unabated in the face of Brexit and any broader concerns about the economy.

Leading last night’s Contemporary Art Auction in London was Jenny Saville’s “Shift” which sold for more than $9 million, tripling the artist’s previous auction record of $3.5 million.
Overall, last night’s auction achieved more than it’s high estimate of almost $70-million dollars.
Sotheby’s Director of Contemporary Art Europe says Asian collectors were bidding on Western artists and Western collectors were bidding on Asian artists and because of that Alex Branczik says we can now look forward with real confidence.
