Residents who live near the house in east Mississauga flattened by an explosion Tuesday found letters near the scene.
They turned the notes to police.
No word if they came from the destroyed house on Hickory Drive in the Dixie-Rathburn area.
Peel police say they’re trying to identify the letters and match them to the correct address.
Residents say they’re apologetic in tone, with the writer describing being in pain, asking God for help and forgiveness for the writer’s future actions.
The blast killed a woman and damaged about two dozen other homes.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating.
Officials have identified a number of residents who will not be returning to their homes for ”some time” because they’re in a ”state of disrepair.”
