While the Republican National Convention prepares to gets its first look Wednesday night at Trump`s vice-presidential running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, there`s more fallout from Monday`s night`s speech by Trump`s wife.
A writer with the Trump Organization issued a statement saying she had included passages from Michelle Obama`s speech in Melania Trump`s address.
Meredith McIver offered to resign, but Donald Trump rejected it.
“I fell terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant,“ she said in the statement.
“Mr. Trump told me people make innocent mistakes and that we learn and grow from experiences.“
McIver said she and Melania Trump had discussed many people who`d inspired her, including Michelle Obama, that she took notes which found their way into the final draft of the speech.
