Saunders has sent an internal memo to all his officers reassuring them of his support as they go out in the line of duty every day.
Three police officers were killed and three others injured in a shooting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday, five officers were killed and seven others wounded after a peaceful rally turned deadly in Dallas earlier this month and a Kansas City, Kansas officer was shot to death last night.
The Chief is also receiving public input on modernizing the force which Chief Saunders says is important because it’s new world out there that requires new policing approaches.
The first of a series of 8 pubic meetings was held last night, the next one is this coming Monday.
