The City of Mississauga and its striking library workers have reached a tentative agreement to end a strike that’s shut down the city’s libraries for the past 3 weeks.
LIBRARY STRIKE
No details have been released pending a ratification vote.
Members of CUPE Local 1989 walked off the job July 4th after rejecting an offer from the city which the union said failed to match the increase in the cost of living.
More than half those on strike work part time and don’t receive benefits, vacation or sick time.
