GHOST SINGER MARNI NIXON DEAD AT 86

In 1964, Audrey Hepburn was at the top of her game with the movie musical  My Fair Lady.

But what most people don’t know is that it wasn’t Hepburn doing the singing, that was handled by “Ghost Singer Marni Nixon who has died in New York of breast cancer at the age of  86.

Nixon appeared uncredited, on many of the biggest movie musicals of all time – dubbing the voices for the likes of Hepburn and Deborah Kerr.  Nixon was a classically trained musician who sang high notes for Marilyn Monroe and “ghosted” Natalie Wood’s vocals on West Side Story.
