The clean up continues this morning after parts of Toronto experienced flooding from a strong summer storm that hit around 7 o’clock last night. Parts of the city’s downtown core got drenched, marooning a taxi in the Simcoe Street underpass…
The east end of Toronto also got drenched with one Beach resident saying in all the years he’s lived there, he’s never seen anything like it.
Along with the flooding, high winds brought down tree branches and hydro wires leaving several thousand homes in the dark. Toronto Hydro had most of the outages restored within a hour of the storm ending. Power outages were also reported in York Region and the Bolton area but there are no reports of any weather-related injuries.
