TIFF TURNS KING INTO A PEDESTRIAN MALL

The Toronto International Film festival officially kicks off today and for the 3rd straight year King Street, is turned into a pedestrian mall, closed to traffic from Spadina to University.

The closer will impact TTC streetcar service on King.
The East bound 504 King Car will divert north at Spadina and turn around using Adelaide and Charlotte.  East bound bound passengers will need to transfer to the 514 car which will divert around the closure using Queen Street.

The west bound 504 car will turn back using Church Street, Wellington and York. West bound passangers will need to transfer to the 514 car which will divert around the closure  using Queen Street.

In addition, a section of John Street, from King to Wellington will also be closed.
King Street reopens at 5 am, September 12th.
