Russia has rolled out cruise missiles, multiple rocket launchers and tanks – at massive military drills in Crimea.

Dozens of journalists were invited to a remote firing range at the Black Sea coast – for a display of elaborate war games involving  paratroopers, tanks, cruise missiles launched from a submarine and the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system.

The drills began across southern Russia and Crimea earlier this week and have involved a total of over 120,000 troops.

They are some of the largest exercises Russia has held for years.

Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine in April 2014.
