Zoomer legends Mel Brooks, Morgan Freeman and Audra McDonald are among those being honoured with the US National Medal of Arts.
The 90-year old Brooks is being recognized for “a lifetime of making the world laugh”. He’s one of the few artists to have won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony and a Grammy. The 79-year old Freeman will be honoured for his work as an actor, director and narrator.
McDonald, who is 46, has won six Tony awards with appearances in musicals, concerts and operas.
U-S President Barack Obama will do the honours at the White House September 22nd.
