The 65-year-old Hoodfar had been held in Tehran’s infamous Evin prison but was released Monday.

She was first arrested in March, shortly before she was to return to Canada, but was released on bail, and then rearrested in June.
Hoodfar had been charged with collaborating with a hostile government against national security and with propaganda against the state.
Friends and former colleagues of the retired Concordia University professor says it’s a day to rejoice and celebrate.
Hoodfar suffers from a serious neurological condition and her family had said requests for a check-up while she was in jail were ignored.
