The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a commuter train crash Thursday at one of the busiest train terminals in the New York area.
It happened during the end of the morning rush-hour as a train, travelling at a high speed, plowed through barriers meant to stop it and finally stopped against a wall of the Hoboken Terminal.
The impact jolted commuter on the crammed four-passenger cars and sent part of the terminal, that covered the tracks, onto the platform, killing a woman standing there.
Hoboken Terminal’s one of New Jersey’s most used stations, acting as a hub for both New Jersey Transit and PATH, the rail line that goes to Manhattan.
The PATH train station at Hoboken was the site of a crash in 2011 that left 30 hurt.
