Songwriter-musician Rod Temperton, who wrote Michael Jackson classics, ”Thriller,” Off the Wall,” ”Rock with You,” has died of cancer.
A statement from his music publisher says the 66-year-old Temperton died last week of an ”aggressive” cancer.
No other details were given.
Temperton, who began his career in the disco band Heatwave and collaborated with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, was best known as a songwriter and worked closely with producer Quincy Jones on groundbreaking tracks for Jackson’s ”Off the Wall” and ”Thriller” albums.
