EXPERTS: HUMAN LIFESPAN LIMIT LIKELY AROUND 115 YEARS

Jeanne Louise Calment’s record appears safe.
Researchers don’t expect anyone to soon break her record as the oldest human who ever lived – 122 years.  
The French woman died in 1997.

A study done at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York shows though more of us are living longer, the ceiling appears to be around 115 years.
Some experts say this work does not take into account progress made in the lab in extending the lifespan of animals, including mice, worms and flies.
Others say those wishing to live longer, healthier lives should focus on diet and exercise.
But the researchers who carried out this most recent study, which appears in the journal Nature, describe how analysis of records from a number of databases suggests there’s a limit to human lifespan and that we’ve hit it.
