An inspector from Environment Canada is in central Ontario – checking out damage from Monday’s severe weather – to see if any of the destruction was caused by a tornado.

Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says a tornado path is narrow and long – compared to the path of what’s described as “straight-line wind damage” – which is generally over a wider and shorter area.

Besides downed trees and hydro lines, the roof was torn off a Mister Transmission shop in Collingwood.

Several people were inside – even though the shop was closed – but no one was injured.
