Lexus, Toyota and Buick come out on top – in Consumer Reports’ annual survey.
That makes it the fourth straight year that Lexus and Toyota have lead the list.
But Buick is the first North American brand to crack the top three – in more than 35 years.
Audi and Kia round out the top five brands.
Meanwhile — The U-S government’s highway safety agency says automakers should make cybersecurity part of their product development process – by assessing risks and building in protections.
The agency says companies should identify critical systems for safety – such as engine control computers – and limit their exposure to attacks.
Guidelines released today by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also call for automakers to limit access to car owners’ personal data.
