Any Ontarian serving on a jury who requires counselling – will soon be able to get it –  absolutely free.

The announcement comes from attorney general Yasir Naqvi – who says by January next year, the province will have a designated phone number available – for those who need the support.

Naqvi says the Wynne government wants to ensure that anyone serving as a juror in Ontario – has the support they need.

His announcement comes a day before the Court of Appeal for Ontario hears the case of a woman who says she suffered P-T-S-D after serving as a juror – at the trial of Michael Rafferty, who was convicted of murdering an eight-year-old Woodstock girl.
