Spokesman Brad Ross calls it a a win – win situation.  He says the company providing the WiFi is paying the TTC for the privilege of providing the service.  When the contract expires in 20-years, the TTC will own the infrastructure.
The network, known as T-dot is being funded by advertising with installation expected to be completed by early next year.  The TTC hopes to have Wi-Fi in the subway tunnels by 2019.
The platform installation is expected to be completed by early next year.
