It’s like venture capital for the arts world.
That’s what the National Arts Centre says about it’s new $25 million fundraising campaign – designed to support artists across Canada – who are creating new works.
The NAC has announced the Creation Campaign – and some of the money is earmarked specifically for pieces marking the 150th anniversary of Canada’s confederation next year.
The campaign is being led by a $5-million donation from philanthropist and businesswoman Gail Asper. Her gift is the largest single donation to the performing arts institution in its 47-year history.
