More than five decades in the making, the new studio album from The Rolling Stones was made in just three days.

‘Blue & Lonesome,’ the follow-up to 2005’s ‘A Bigger Bang,’ was recorded in December last year in England, and sees Mick and the boys return to their roots and passion for blues, reworking songs by pioneers like Howlin’ Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Little Walter and Willie Dixon.

Old friend Eric Clapton, who happened to be recording his own album in the next studio, played on two of the 12 tracks.

‘Blue & Lonesome’ was actually recorded at a studio in West London, dare we say, just a ‘stones’  throw from where they started out playing pubs and clubs.
