It was 75 years ago today Japanese war planes launched a surprise attack on the U-S Naval Base in Hawaii, killing 24-hundred Americans most of them service people.
President Franklin Roosevelt addressed the attack calling December 7th 1941 a date that will live in infamy.
Many consider the attack the turning point of World War II because is caused the US to declare war on Japan and officially brought the U-S into the war which had raged in Europe for more than two years.
Thousands of service people and members of the public are expected to attend today’s 75th anniversary ceremonies in Pearl Harbor.
