Big water is cozying up to small town Ontario.
Nestle Waters Canada wants to team up with a small Ontario community – over a well.
The community of Centre Wellington had tried to buy the well – to secure the fast-growing community’s future drinking water supply.
But Nestle bought the well instead.
The corporation has since been prevented from testing the quality and quantity of the water available at the Middlebrook well site – because the province has imposed a moratorium on new or expanded bottled water operations.
Company representatives are now proposing that Nestle and the municipality get together for talks – about how they could partner on the future of the well.
