Ontario had the lowest impaired driving rates in the country in 2015 – for both impaired driving overall and drug-impaired driving in particular.
A Stats-Can report shows Ontario had 15-thousand 280 incidents of police-reported impaired driving that year – which works out to a rate of 111 per 100-thousand population – and that compares to 201 per 100-thousand for Canada as a whole.
As for drug-impaired driving, Ontario had 448 incidents – for a rate of 3.2.
That’s compared to a rate of 7.8 for the entire country.
