MANNIX STAR MIKE CONNORS DEAD AT 91

The 60’s/70’s TV community has lost another one with the passing of actor Mike Connors at the age of 91.

Connors played detective Joe Mannix between 1968 and 1975 in what became the final series from Desilu Productions.   Desilu president Lucille Ball convinced CBS not to cancel the show despite its initial poor ratings and after being re-tooled somewhat played for 7 more seasons.
Connors won a Golden Globe for Mannix and as recently as 2007 made a guest appearance on “Two and a Half Men”.   His other TV appearances included “Murder, She Wrote” (which airs on our sister station Vision TV) as well as “Love Boat and “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
According to his son, Connors had been diagnosed a week ago with leukemia.  MIke Connors, dead at 91, just a day after Mary Tyler Moore passed away at age 80.
