Only three days after the province rejected Toronto city council’s request to be given authority to implement road tolls on the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway, the mayor met the premier at Queen’s Park.
Both Kathleen Wynne and John Tory used the word constructive to describe their face-to-face.

The mayor says they spoke constructively about the future and about about Toronto’s substantial and pressing needs when it comes to issues such as public transportation and housing.
Tory stressed the province must ”immediately come to the table” to address what he calls the social housing crisis.
The premier says her relationship with the mayor is not ”broken” after the apparent about face on road tolls.
”There is a very, good solid working relationship. It is a constructive relationship and it will continue to be.”
Toronto budget chief, councillor Gary Crawford, told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with Libby Znaimer, he feels the premier threw the city ”under the bus,” adding the province’s decision is an example of a government ”desperate to save its own political butt, you know, it’s about the seats.”
