Saying that the government wants fans to have a `fair shot`at landing sports, concert and other event tickets, the province wants your input.
Attorney General Yasir Naqvi is urging the public to go to ontario.ca/tickets to fill out an survey as the government wants feedback on accessibility, affordability, transparency and enforcement until March 15.
The goal is to introduce legislation in the spring.
Ticket scalping made headlines last year when the Tragically Hip announced a final, cross-country tour after lead singer Gord Downie revealed he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
Naqvi says ”What happened with the Hips Man Machine Poem tour really, really personally bugged me.”
Tickets were snapped up in seconds then reappeared immediately on resale sites at much higher prices that were out of reach for a lot of fans.
