Some students at York University are upset after two swastikas were drawn inside a classroom.
The school calls them ”hate graffiti” while police, who are continuing to investigate, are leery to call the incident a hate crime just yet.
They’re treating it as mischief.
One student says ”everyone was feeling pretty disconcerted by it and uncomfortable,” pointing out one of the symbols was not drawn properly.
Samina Sami, executive director with York U’s department of community safety, says along with the ”hate graffiti,” and anti-Semtic statement was also found.
The Canadian director of the Jewish Defense League, Meir Weinstein, told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with Libby Znaimer, he’s not surprised.
”Very predictable that anti-Semitic incidents are on the rise. We monitor lots of organizations that spread anti-Semitic propaganda and York University has been a hotbed, in fact, in a lot of anti-Israel, anti-Jewish agitation.”
