Pulitzer Prize winner and legendary New York journalist Jimmy Breslin has died at the age of 88.
Breslin was known as a chronicler of wise guys and underdogs and was the brash embodiment of the old-time, street smart New Yorker.
Brezlin’s career spanned interviewing U.S. President John Kennedy’s grave digger, exchanging letters with serial killer Son of Sam and documenting the dwindling hope for survivors in the wreckage of 9/11.
He won the Pulitzer for commentary in 1986.
Breslin died of complications from pneumonia yesterday in New York.
