Saying there are ”some serious problems for investors in Canada,” the Zoomers group CARP is launching an online campaign.
Vice-President of Advocacy, Wanda Morris, says the titles of financial professionals need to be regulated so investors are not mislead by those who call themselves advisors, but in reality are salespeople.
She points out that’s one of the reasons Canadians pay the highest investment fees in the developed world.
“It is not okay that we’re paying DOUBLE the cost of the U.S. for (investment) advice in basically every category of mutual fund. That has to end.”
In an effort to protect CARP members and all Canadians, CARP’s launched an online campaign to stop fee gouging.
