ACTOR SIR ROGER MOORE DIES AT 89, CANCER

Actor, humanitarian Sir Roger Moore has died following a short battle with cancer.
The British-born actor’s early career included some modelling and bit parts in movies but he made a name for himself in television in the 1960s.
Moore starred as Simon Templar in The Saint which ran from 1962-69. 
He’ll best be remembered for his work on the big screen when he took on the role of James Bond, playing Agent 007 seven times –
Live and Let Die (1973)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) 
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
Moonraker (1979)
For Your Eyes Only (1981)
Octopussy (1983)
A View to a Kill (1985).
Roger Moore was appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador in 1991 before eventually being knighted in recognition for his humanitarian efforts.
