Overwhelming support for the Bloor Street Bike Lanes is expected to be expressed today at a third public information meeting on the pilot project.
The bike lanes, between Shaw and Avenue Road, have been in operation since August of last year.  In a survey filled in by 14,000 people, more than 3,800 who live near the bike lanes, 75% either agree or strongly agree the bike lanes make Bloor Street safer.
52% of the 140 business owners along the stretch think the benefits of the lanes out weigh the drawbacks.

Local Councillors Mike Layton and Joe Cressy will be at this afternoon’s meeting which starts at 4 o’clock at Trinity St. Paul’s Centre on Bloor Street, West.

City council will vote this fall on whether to make the bike lanes a permanent feature.
