The actor who brought glamour to the TV detective as a hip private eye has died.
Zoomers will remember Roger Smith (right) who died Sunday morning in a Los Angeles hospital after battling a terminal illness.
From 1958 to 1963, Smith co-starred with Efrem Zimbalist Jr. on the glossy ABC series which made stars of both men and turned Edd “Kookie” Byrnes into teen heartthrob.
Smith had survived two other serious illnesses to have a second career after the TV show ended managing the career of his second wife, singer-actor Ann-Margret.
