The union, representing workers at the LCBO, has taken another step toward a potential strike – before Canada Day.
The Ontario Public Service Employees Union says it’s requested a no-board report from the Ministry of Labour.
Once the ministry issues that report, the union would be in a legal position to strike 17 days later.
The LCBO says there are a number of bargaining dates set for this month and that it’s hopeful a negotiated settlement can be reached.
But in the event an agreement is not reached, the LCBO’s putting contingency plans in place.
Workers voted 93% in favour of a strike back in April.
