A Toronto police officer who was convicted of attempted murder – in the 2013 shooting death of a teenager on a empty streetcar – says the judge made multiple errors in his trial.-
Constable James Forcillo is appealing his conviction and six-year prison sentence in the shooting of 18-year-old Sammy Yatim.
Documents have been recently filed that show Forcillo plans to argue that Superior Court Justice Edward Then was wrong to exclude cellphone and expert evidence – about the possibility of so-called “suicide by cop.”
