MORNEAU SAYS MARIJUANA DEADLINE WON'T CHANGE

Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau says his government will not be altering its July 2018 deadline – for legalizing recreational marijuana.

Morneau says the federal government promised Canadians it would legalize pot by then – and he believes that date is achievable.

After meeting with his provincial counterparts in Ottawa – the finance minister said – his government wants a set goal to work towards.

Manitoba’s finance minister says he’s feeling rushed by the Trudeau government’s timeline – and wants it extended.
