The Pride Festival kicks off today leading to Sunday’s Pride Parade.
This year, there will be no uniformed Toronto Police officers marching. They’ve been welcomed to march, but not in uniform as the result of a deal struck with Black Lives Matter during last year’s parade.
Pride kicks off with the Trans March tonight. It begins at Church and Hayden at 7, makes its way along Bloor, south on Yonge and east on Carlton to Allan Gardens.
Tomorrow it’s the Dyke March. It starts at Church and Hayden at 1 o’clock and follows the same route as the Trans March.
Then on Sunday, one of North America’s largest pride parades beings at 2 pm with over 150 groups participating. It starts at Yonge and Bloor and ends at Yonge-Dundas Square.
