The death of the internal combustion engine might be – just down the road.
Volvo has announced that – starting in 2019 – it will no longer launch any new cars with gasoline engines.
The Swedish company – which is owned by a Chinese automotive conglomerate – says it will launch five fully electric vehicles – between 2019 and 2021- and will also produce a range of hybrid cars across its model line – as the company phases out traditional combustion engines.
Meanwhile – there’s another electric elephant in the room: Tesla.
Elon Musk’s car company is planning to roll out it’s first Model 3 cars this Friday, July 7th.
The vehicles are said to be more affordably priced – to enable Tesla to be a stronger competitor in the marketplace.
