The interm board that is now running the Toronto Parking Authority has suspended two senior executives following an auditor general’s investigation.
President Lorne Persiko and Marie Casista, the V.P. of real estate, development and marketing, are now on paid leave pending a further look into a land deal that was questioned by the AG.
Beverly Romeo-Beehler’s ten-month investigation found the parking authority would have over paid for a 5 acre parcel of land at Finch and Arrow Road by some $2.6 million. She told city council the deal involved potential conflicts of interest involving Councilor Giorgio Mammoliti, TPA executives and several others including a lobbyist and a consultant.
