Parents Connie Yates and Chris Gard had raised over $2-million Cdn to take him to the U.S. for experimental therapy they thought may prolong his life.
But the baby’s doctors in London objected, arguing the treatment would not help and might not ease the suffering.
The matter ended up in court and a judge ruled Thursday that Charlie should be transferred to a hospice and taken off life support after his parents and the hospital could not agree on an end-of-life plan.
